Meet Dr. Lateasha Gaither-Davis
Therapeutic Focus, the little clinic with a big heart, is owned and operated by Dr. LaTeasha Gaither-Davis. A passionate advocate for children and families, Dr. LaTeasha is dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals with developmental and cognitive challenges.
As a young child growing up in West Memphis, Arkansas, LaTeasha experienced a speech delay and resources were scarce in the area. However, she was able to receive speech therapy.
Through hard work and determination, her speech improved over time. As LaTeasha continued through Junior & Senior High School, this experience stuck with her and she discovered her passion for helping others with a similar diagnosis. So, it was no surprise that she set her sights on attending college at the University of Central Arkansas to obtain a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Health Sciences & Occupational Therapy.
After completing her education, Dr. LaTeasha embarked on a career as an Occupational Therapist, working in San Diego, California, and Laredo, Texas. She gained invaluable experience in nursing homes, hospitals, mental health settings, sports clinics, and outpatient pediatric clinics. Despite her professional success, LaTeasha felt a strong pull to return home to Crittenden County, Arkansas where she could make a meaningful impact in her own community.
LaTeasha and Leo (the lion mascot) opened an outpatient pediatric therapy clinic in Crittenden County with the goal of making a difference in the community. They provide children with cognitive and developmental deficits with safe, ethical, and individualized treatment services to prepare them to thrive within society. LaTeasha also equips the parents and loved ones of children with disabilities with client-centered training, education, and resources to improve their children’s quality of life and occupational abilities.
In addition to her work at Therapeutic Focus, Dr. LaTeasha is deeply committed to community leadership and advocacy. She proudly serves as:
Chair and Commissioner of the Arkansas Minority Health Commission, championing health equity for minority populations.
Board Member of the West Memphis Chamber of Commerce, supporting economic development and quality of life for the local community.
Board Member of Southland Casino Hotel, contributing to the development and community engagement initiatives of a key regional business.
Board Member of the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas, advancing economic security and education for Arkansas women and girls.
LaTeasha’s story is one of resilience, dedication, and a profound commitment to her community. Her leadership roles reflect her mission to improve lives and create opportunities, not just for the Crittenden County community but for the entire state of Arkansas. Through her clinic, advocacy, and leadership, she continues to inspire and empower others to thrive.
